Businesses are still procrastinating when it comes to marketing strategies. And it’s not because they don’t know what to do, but because they lack the time. So, I’m going to outline ten strategies that can not be overlooked any more if you want to grow to the next level in 2016.
The best approach is to find someone who can focus on implementing and managing these tactics for you. Whether you hire an in-house marketer or outsource your needs to an expert.
Create Value with Blogging
Hopefully you’re not sick of hearing about blogging, however, if you are, chances are you’re still not doing it.
When done right, blogging creates value and credibility that will attract your ideal audience.
Businesses that blog receive 77% more traffic and 97% more links back to their site. And backlinks are crucial to successful SEO.
Emails for Closing Sales
You should already be using email marketing as a major piece of your overall strategy, but using emails to help close more sales is a different strategy.
Adding a new promotion strategy to your email marketing is a great way to leverage the relationships and trust you have with your customers to make more sales.
As an example, Success Magazine does a 12 days of Christmas email campaign every December. They promote a different product each day with a discount.
Important note, you cant start promoting sales emails without first having a relationship of trust with your contacts.
Drive Traffic with Social Media
There is a big difference between using social media and driving traffic with social media. You can post things on your Facebook page, but if you’re objective isn’t to get active and prospective customers to your website, you’re mission out on a huge opportunity.
The best way to do this is to leverage your blog post. Every time you create a blog post you need to share it on social media.
Don’t just share it once. I recommend that you create 4 different social post for each of your blog post. Share them at different times maybe even three days apart.
There are 2 billion active social media users who spend 2 to 3 hours online every day. It’s a great place to make new connections and reach a bigger audience.
Build Social Media Communities
The most powerful asset any business can have is a strong community of loyal customers. Social media communities allow you to build a group of members focused on a specific product, topic, service, need, etc.
Your community should revolve around helping your target audience solve their problems.
Use Content Offers
Chances are you’ve taken advantage of a few of these in the past. Downloaded a case study or ebook, signed up for a video course or an email course and maybe even subscribed to a Podcast.
All of these are good ways to grow your community and expand your email list. But most important, they’ll add value to your customers and help them make smarter buying decisions.
This type of “premium” content generates 3 times as many leads as traditional outbound marketing and cost 62% less.
Landing Pages for Higher Conversion
A landing page is any page that a web searcher lands on after clicking on search engine result, which accounts for 56% of all website clicks.
Landing pages are used to promote a specific product, service or some of those content offers, while eliminating any other distractions from the visitor.
These pages should be used to convert your visitors into actionable leads.
Boost Conversion with Opt-In Forms
It’s not enough to just have a single optin form on your website, if you want to increase conversion rates by 1000% or more.
Multiple forms target different visitors at different stages of their search for whatever they’re looking for.
When you have one optin form, with a single focus, for example, “Join our Newsletter”, you might miss the person who would have joined if you had offered a free ebook or email course.
Direct Traffic with Calls to Action
Your website should have very specific calls to action that lead your visitors directly where you want them. From the homepage to your service page or to one of your new landing pages.
70% of businesses don’t have any Calls to Action on there homepage. This makes it almost impossible to convert your traffic into leads or customers.
Create Credibility with Social Proof
Using customer reviews as social proof can increase marketing effectiveness by 54% because 88% of people trust reviews by other consumers as much as they trust recommendations from personal contacts.
This is similar to getting testimonials, however, social proof is generally customer testimonials that are shared socially, via social media.
If you’re managing your social profile, you will see you customers sharing their experience with your brand and talking about your products/services. Take screenshots of those shares and post them to your product page or put them on your homepage.
Collect Reviews and Testimonials
Use your Google Business profile and sites like Yelp to collect customer reviews, link to those sites from yours and copy those reviews onto your site for visitors to review while they’re browsing through your website.
70% of consumers look at product reviews before making a purchase. Using customer reviews and testimonials creates brand advocates that will attract new buyers.
Here’s the truth, you cant go through 2016 the same way you went through 2015 and expect different results. It’s time to do something different in the coming year. Use these ten tactics to help you grow your business in the coming year.
Don’t let it overwhelm you. Get some help if you need it, but be sure to do something.
